MURAL PROJECT

This mural project aimed to bring awareness to the social and historical experiences of African Americans in light of the unrest in downtown Grand Rapids and global protests in response to police brutality and systemic racism. Each panel visually captures the political climate and treatment of marginalized communities with an element of satire. The imagery raises questions concerning race relations, examines inequalities stemming from systemic policies, and challenges the institutions that benefit and perpetuate current racial conditions.
